Emergency Preparedness

Are You Ready?

  • Get a Kit: Have a kit ready with enough food, water, shelter, and emergency supplies for 72 hours. Make sure to include copies of important documents such as birth certificates, titles, and insurance policies.
  • Make a Plan: Your family may not be together when a disaster strikes so it is important to plan in advance: how you will get to a safe place; how you will contact one another; how you will get back together; and what you will do in different situations.
  • Stay Informed: Before disasters occur, familiarize yourself with the warning signs of impending events and learn about local advance warning systems. During emergencies, follow radio and TV media outlets or subscribe the County’s emergency notification system for updates.
