Social Services Advisory Board

The Social Services Advisory Board (SSAB) was created by the Board of Supervisors on May 23, 2022.

The SSAB interests itself in all matters pertaining to King William’s public assistance and social services needs; monitors the formulation and implementation of public assistance and social services programs; meets with County Administrator at least four times a year for the purpose of making recommendations on policy matters; makes an annual report to the Board of Supervisors, concurrent with the DSS budget presentation, concerning the administration of DSS programs; and submits to the Board of Supervisors, from time to time, other reports that the advisory board deems appropriate. 

Terms: Members will initially be appointed for terms of from one to four years so as to provide for the balanced overlapping of the terms of the membership. Thereafter, terms are for four years with a maximum of two consecutive terms. (Code of Virginia §63.2-305)
